scrapbooking on a large scale

ideas abound in how to take your old photos and get them out into the light of day...here are a series of images from an old album from the summer of 1954...

in the right location you could make custom wallpaper, a family room or den perhaps...it could also be a stand alone work, printed on canvas and framed for display in a special location...I am always exploring new ways to pull images together for interesting display...you've got pictures, let's talk...

custom wall paper

that's right, custom wall paper...imagine the possibilities...in this example, the ultimate tribute for the ultimate cub fan...a montage of images featuring the friendly confines of wrigley field...

there is a correct way to build a "chicago hot dog" and this is it...for vienna beef (whom I created this image) custom wall paper was created and applied to the walls of the main stairway leading to their executive offices...and if you are wondering, you start with a poppy seed bun, vienna hot dog (of course), yellow mustard, fluorescent green relish, chopped onions, sectioned tomatoes (not sliced), dill pickle spear, sport peppers and a sprinkling of celery salt...

idea under construction

I've been talking with a woman from phoenix who is contemplating using custom wall paper for a golf themed bathroom she is decorating...she plans to deck out her game room powder room with all things golf...she has a toilet seat embedded with golf balls, a ball washing machine, various golf related towels, a shower curtain that has the layout of pebble beach, soap that resembles golf balls, and so on...one idea we kicked around was shooting a montage of golf related items that her and her husband own...their clubs, balls, shoes, hats, gloves, bags, shorts, shorts, pants, towels...they would be positioned on or near the green surrounding the cup at the 18th hole at their country club...I would also incorporate some of the photos they have taken over the years of them and their friends playing golf...I would also include pictures of score cards they have kept, old tees, old clubs, programs and anything else they can find...then I would compose a montage that would in turn be made into wall paper to deck out the walls of that powder room...I know, a bathroom, well, imagination has no bounds and I am enjoying the challenge...

with a little imagination, this is one neat way to put a lot of story on a wall or walls...businesses can use their walls to showcase their products...families can make walls into literal family scrapbooks...while not all walls or rooms will be enhanced with the use of this less than subtle concept, for those that could use a little drama, here is the ticket...you've got pictures, interests, products, memories...what are your walls waiting for???
